How
to get to Sahara Passion once you have arrived in Timbuktu:
It is, in
fact, quite simple to find, made even easier by the fact
that the main streets of town have been paved.
Coming
into town from the port or the airport
you will be on
a paved road heading north that takes you to a
round-point intersection called the “place
d’independance.” Turn to the left (west) and follow
the pavement around a sharp curve past the grand
mosque and north again past the hotels Colombe, the
lycée, the Maison d’Artisans and a cemetery. Go around
the round-point and head straight north. You will
enter a section of town made of regular blocks. You
are on the Rue de la Paix, also known as Rue 421, keep
straight until you come to a cross-road that is also
paved, Rue 430, turn to the left (west) this is still
Rue de la Paix though the number and direction have
changed. Follow this street straight down until you
come out facing a monument (flamme de la Paix).
Turn right (north). Past the Flamme de la Paix
and the Ecole (school) de la Paix on your left. Then
past a small mosque on your right. Go two blocks
further north, turn left. We are the last permanent
structure to the north surrounded by huts of thatch
and mats. There are sloar lamps on the rooftop so you
can pick us out in the dark.
From
the gare routière, head west past the petrol
station and down Rue 112. You will come out on the main
street facing the maison d’artisants turn North. Past the
cemitary go around the round-point and head straight north.

Attention:
Don't
confuse us with Refuge du Sahara or Camping la Paix which
are also in the general neighbourhood. We are a separate
establishment. If you inform us of your time and place of
arrival when you reserve a room with us (or telephone us
upon arrival) we can transport you to the hotel.
